If you just got saved and are now a Christian, you are adopted into the Kingdom of God, which is God's family, and are added to the Church, which is the Body of Christ.
Now we are representatives of Jesus in our everyday lives.
One may be wondering how to live or what to do, now that they are saved.
In the book of Titus, we have a great jumping off point. A great place to start. This tells us exactly how to get started in our walk with Jesus:
Titus 2:11-12 NIV
[11] For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. [12] It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,
See? This is a great passage.
Being born again, we are "made new" in Christ. We have the Holy Spirit living inside us now. Beforehand, we just lived by our human nature. Now, we can live by the Holy Spirit inside us. So, the passage teaches us to live a new life led by the Holy Spirit.
We can't just live like we did before. We can't do just whatever. Don't worry. You won't. The Holy Spirit will interact with your spirit and He'll begin to influence your life internally. God helps us become who He wants by the Holy Spirit inside us.
But this passage shows us where to begin:
Say "no" to ungodliness (bad things) and worldly passions (passions in our human nature), and live self-controlled, upright and godly lives (be disciplined to live right and do good things).
Ephesians 4:22-24 says it this way:
[22] You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; [23] to be made new in the attitude of your minds; [24] and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
Put off your old way of life, put on your new self. Renew your mind everyday that you are "a new creation in Christ."
Start there. Say no to old ways of doing things by your human nature and control yourself to live right and do good things.
Why?
Because we represent Jesus Christ now and we influence people no matter if we want to or not. We want to influence for good and not for evil. So they will be saved too.
So, there you go. That'll crank start your walk with Jesus.
