God's All Encompassing Love

Hi dear readers,

As I have been looking at the promises of God found in the Psalms, I discovered these passages today about God's all encompassing love for His creation and how He loves His creation. Write these down, mark them in your Bible, cling to these promises, and renew your mind with them often. They show who God is. Bask in how much He loves you. Rest in His love.

Psalms 145:8-9 NIV

[8] The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. [9] The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.

Think On Good Things

Philippians 4:8 NIV

[8] Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Why do this? 

Ephesians 6:12 NIV

[12] For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 

Think and focus on good things because the dark realm, which is Satan and his dominion, is trying to make the Church ineffective in the world. They try to get a stronghold in our lives to destroy us, so God cannot use us for others to be saved. So focus on good things so Satan cannot get a stronghold in our lives to work through.

Ephesians 4:27 NIV

[27] and do not give the devil a foothold.

In the "Information Age," it's very easy to let our minds be overcome with just whatever is out there on the Internet. You can literally find anything, good or bad with a cell phone, computer, or tablet. With so much information available out there today, it is even more important to spend time with those things that are prescribed in Philippians 4:8. Things that are noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, or praiseworthy. This focus is not limited to just the Internet, but with ANY external influence in our lives.

If we do everything in our power to purify our lives and minds, then it's much harder for Satan to find something within us to use against us. So, whatever the external influences, focus on the good stuff.

Again, the Church represents Jesus. We shine His light into a dark, evil world. God uses us to draw people to Himself so they can be saved too. Satan hates this and tries anything to disrupt this process. So we should not make it easy for him by having bad influences in our lives, which He can use against us.

Be ready for the battle when you start streamlining your thoughts and mind on good things. That's when Satan turns up the heat trying to get you to focus on the bad stuff.

These are some of his "fiery darts" he will try to throw at you:

"Everyone else is doing it. It doesn't matter."

"One time can't hurt." 

"Nobody will know."

Since Satan is the "father of lies," we know that everything he says is a lie. He cannot tell the truth. So all the above examples are lies.

So ignore all the bad, negative, evil, or controversial stuff out there and you'll be on your way to true freedom in Christ. Then God will be able to use you so other people can be saved too.

Paul says it this way:

Romans 12:9 NIV

[9] Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.

Let Your Light Shine?

Matthew 5:16 NIV

[16] In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Being the Church, we are "ambassadors for Jesus," we represent Jesus wherever we go and with whatever we do. Why? So that others might believe in Jesus and be saved. 

That's the whole point of the Church. God uses our "fruit" that Jesus (the Vine) produces in us by the Holy Spirit which draws people to Himself and then they can be saved too.

So what does letting your light shine mean?

We let "our light shine" by loving all people the way God loves us. Loving all people with God's love "that is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit."

Romans 5:5 NIV

[5] And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

It means loving all people by doing good deeds for them. Love is action. We become "servants" like Jesus did. We become available. We help and do whatever we can. We become selfless not selfish. In a self-centered world, we shine our light into the world when we are not solely focused on ourselves but live to be there for others. 

Anyone in the Church can do this because we are always around people. 

When we really serve and help people by our words and actions in a selfless manner, then they will glorify or thank God for it. They will know God exists and that He loves them because we really love and care for them. 

So let's make it our daily ambition to lay down our lives for other people like Jesus did. Be available. Be ready to talk, to pray, to be a friend, to be the one who listens, to be the one who helps however we can. Live to serve others as we tend to our own affairs. By our "good deeds," they will glorify or thank God which is in heaven. 

Our love and good deeds will open the door for God to save them like He saved us. "Love never fails."

Trust In God!!

We navigate our lives everyday in the busyness of society, culture, and our own personal circumstances and situations. We can be engulfed in the issues of life and it can seem overwhelming. Look at your life right now like an outsider looking in. See how busy you are? Sometimes we bring this on ourselves and sometimes it cannot be helped. 

Whatever the case, when life and all it presents weighs your mind and schedule down, always turn to God and trust in Him.

Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

[5] Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; [6] in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Do not "lean unto your own understanding," but trust in God. You don't have to figure it all out or have all the answers for everything, just trust that God is in control and He is overseeing your life.

Psalms 121:7-8 NIV

[7] The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; [8] the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

As Christians, we "live by faith, not by sight." God wants us to solely trust in Him, depend upon Him for whatever life brings our way. He's our Heavenly Father, our Heavenly Parent. So just like a child depends solely on their parents for everything, our Heavenly Father wants us to solely depend upon Him for everything also. So we do this by faith, trusting God with every single aspect of our lives.

We live our lives interacting with Him. We talk to Him in prayer about everything. He answers us by the Holy Spirit within us, by the Word of God, and through other Christians. We learn this process over time and watch Him interact in our lives. He guides us, advises us, counsels us, strengthens us, comforts us, builds us up, and so many other things. Overtime, we learn through experience that we can truly trust in Him. He never lets us down. 

No matter what life brings, He is the constant that never changes. He is our Father. He always loves us. He never leaves us. He is always in our lives. He is ready and willing to work in our lives. We just have to trust in Him, depend upon Him, and wait on Him to work in our lives.

David knew this personally when he said:

Psalms 121:1-8 NIV

[1] I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? [2] My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. [3] He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; [4] indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. [5] The Lord watches over you— the Lord is your shade at your right hand; [6] the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. [7] The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; [8] the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

See? With all these promises of God, we can trust in Him and depend upon Him and He will never let us down, because God does not change.

So we can solely trust in God for everything that encompasses and makes up our lives because He loves us. We don't have to be in control. We don't have to micromanage every little detail of our lives. We don't have to have all the answers. We don't have to think and reason out every little detail of our lives. Trust in God. Give everything over to Him in prayer and "He will direct your path."

We are never alone. He is always with us. Solely depend upon Him from now on for everything. Let go of whatever life brings and trust God.

Be Saved Today!!

How are we saved? By being "born again" by the Holy Spirit and added to the Kingdom of God. We are saved by God's grace through our faith in Him.


Ephesians 2:8 NKJV
[8] For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

How are we "born again" by the Holy Spirit?

1 John 5:1a NIV
[1] Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God..."

John 1:12-13 NIV
[12] Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— [13] children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

When we believe in the name of Jesus Christ, when we believe that He is the Christ, the Savior of the world, the Son of God, we are instantaneously born again by the Holy Spirit and become children of God. We are "saved" by God's grace at the moment we believe.
Why? Because whoever calls on the name of the Lord Jesus will be saved.

Romans 10:13 NIV
[13] for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

How do we "call on the name of the Lord?

Romans 10:9-10 NIV
[9] If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. [10] For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

You declare with your mouth that, "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised from the dead. When you do this, you are born again by the Holy Spirit, added to the kingdom of God, and are saved by God's grace. It is His gift to you!!

Do you believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God?
Do you believe He died on the cross, shed His blood to pay for all the sins of the world including yours?
Do you believe God raised Him from the dead?
Then declare with your mouth that "Jesus is Lord" and be saved.

Don't wait. Do it right this minute. Receive the gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord!

Romans 6:23 NKJV
[23] For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

God brought you to this exact moment in time so you could hear the gospel of Jesus Christ, the good news of Jesus Christ, and believe and be saved.

He loves you and wants you to be saved and live with Him forever in heaven.

Put your faith and hope in the Lord Jesus Christ now!! Today is the day of salvation!!

Come to Jesus today!!
Then immediately go find a church, tell them you got saved and need to be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Why? This is how we symbolically share in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This shows the world we belong to Jesus now. This is the first act of obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ. This shows people you have been "born again."So do it immediately. Then walk in the new life God has given you.

Matthew 28:18-20 NIV
[18] Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. [19] Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [20] and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. [15]  He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. [16] Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Next, find a local Bible-based church in your area and tell them you got saved and start going there so you can begin your new life with other believers. There you will make friends, worship God, study and learn from God's Word, and grow in your relationship with Jesus. 

Remember, "whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved!!!"

Lay Down Our Lives

Hi dear readers,
I woke up and was drawn to this passage by the Holy Spirit within me. 

1 John 3:16-19 NIV
[16] This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. [17] If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? [18] Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. [19] This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence:

We should renew our minds daily to who we are in Christ and what we are here for, which is to love God and love people. This sums up everything. Why do we do this? So the kingdom of God is made known to people and so that God's will is done on Earth as it is in heaven. His will is "that none should perish, but all would come to repentance." He wants everyone to "believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ"(I. John 3:23 NIV) and be saved. His purpose is our purpose here on Earth. Cut and dry, the Church exists so that others will be saved and go to heaven too, which is carrying out Jesus' "Great Commission" in our lives. 

Matthew 28:18-20 NIV
[18] Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. [19] Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [20] and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Mark 16:15-16 NIV

The Church can dance all around this, but at the end of the day, we are here on Earth for God to carry out His will in our lives. That will is "preaching the gospel to all creation." That is our rock solid purpose. Anything we do should contribute to that purpose as we go about our everyday lives. 

Colossians 3:17 NIV
[17] And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

So, the opening passage shows us how to love people. We "lay down our lives" for all people like Jesus did. Sincere, genuine love for people opens the door to share the gospel with them. Love in action shows them that we love and care about them. Love in action breaks through the hardest heart, the most resistant person. So, just like Jesus, laying down our lives by helping people, opens doors for them to be saved too. Loving people in "action and in truth" opens the door for Jesus to work in our lives by the Holy Spirit within us.

We show the "love of God" by having "pity on" or showing mercy to people. Helping people, serving people is laying down our lives for them just like Jesus did. Here's what it looks like in this passage:

[17] If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? [18] Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

These have to be the "good works that God prepared in advance for us to do," so that He can reach people through us.

Ephesians 2:10 NIV
[10] For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

This is what Jesus meant when He said:

[24] Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. [25] For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.

Denying self, losing our lives, and laying down our lives for all people means the same thing. This is following Jesus. Live our lives for other people. Help anyone at any given time, show them we love them by our actions, like Jesus did. By doing so, we open the door to share the gospel with them by the Holy Spirit within us.

Just Start Reading

Hi dear readers! Sorry to be away a few days. I was on vacation. Now I'm back and ready to continue forward as we've been doing. 

I cannot emphasize enough, how important this blog entry is today. This entry will give you what you need to live out your life everyday. I know because I am doing this. There is no way around this message. The Church, as a whole, has to build this into their lives everyday. We must make this a part of our daily routine. This should be top priority over everything else in our lives. We MUST "renew our minds" everyday with the Word of God.

Romans 12:2 NIV

[2] Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. 

On an everyday level, this means spend some time in God's Word every day. I recommend the New Testament to start off with. There we find out Jesus' teachings and recommendations for life in the gospels and then the rest is from Luke, Paul, Peter, John, James, and Jude, the brother of James. Hebrews is written for the Church but we do not know definitively who wrote it. 

Starting in Acts and going to Revelation, there is a wealth of knowledge that cannot be fully exhausted in a single lifetime. We'll never stop learning. Also, this is not ordinary reading, as the Holy Spirit will reveal things to you as you read which will be unique to your specific situation at any given time. Under the New Covenant of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit "teaches us all things" and "writes His laws on our hearts." One of the ways He does this is by us staying in the Word every day, making it something we do every day. How amazing is it that God interacts with us this way by the Holy Spirit inside each one of us? 

Renewing our mind in the Word every day reminds us who we are in Christ Jesus, what is ours in Christ, what we have to look forward to for all eternity, what it means to be "children of God," having been born again by the Holy Spirit into the Kingdom of God. We learn how God intends to use the Church individually and collectively. We learn how He wants us to live to be a benefit to those around us. We also learn about what we are up against in this present world and the unseen realm. The list goes on and on. There are so many different facets to the Christian life that a mere glance at the Word every now and then will not help us much. We have to learn the truths and that comes through reading the Word and then doing it.

One of many things about "renewing your mind" is knowing who you are in Christ, and clinging to that hope forever. 

We are saved by God's grace and are justified freely by His grace through the finished work of Jesus Christ.

Romans 3:21-24 NIV

[21] But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. [22] This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, [23] for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, [24] and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 

By putting our hope in Jesus Christ, we are saved by God's grace and have been given the free gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV

[8] For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— [9] not by works, so that no one can boast. 

John 3:16 NIV

[16] For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 

John 5:24 NIV

[24]  “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. 

Having been born again by the Holy Spirit by believing in Jesus Christ, we are "in Christ" and the Holy Spirit now lives inside each one of us. This guarantees our "inheritance" which is to come, which is heaven.

Ephesians 1:13-14 NIV

[13] And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, [14] who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. 

1 Peter 1:3-5 NIV

[3] Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, [4] and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, [5] who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 

Nobody can ever take us away from Christ Jesus or the Father. Jesus gives us eternal life forever and we will never perish.

John 10:27-30 NIV

[27] My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. [28] I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. [29] My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. [30] I and the Father are one.”

Note:***The only way anything changes is if we stop believing in God. So always believe. Never turn back. 

Colossians 1:21-23 NIV

[21] Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. [22] But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— [23] if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant. 

Revelation 2:10 NKJV

[10] Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Hebrews 11:6 NIV

[6] And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

We do not stand condemned anymore because we believe in Jesus, which places us "in Christ."

Romans 8:1-2 NIV

[1] Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, [2] because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. 

Nothing will ever separate us from the "love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Romans 8:38-39 NIV

[38] For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, [39] neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

See? Just a small sample of who we are in Christ for all Christians.

This is so important to learn these things and refer to them often. Then we will remember who we are in Christ Jesus. James, the half-brother of Jesus said it this way:

James 1:22-25 NIV

[22] Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. [23] Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror [24] and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. [25] But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

We transform our minds by renewing them with the Word. When we do this daily, Satan and the dark realm will not be able to steal it out of our minds. That is where part of our struggle comes from. 

Ephesians 6:10-12 NIV

[10] Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. [11] Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. [12] For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 

Also when the trials, worries, and cares of life come, they will not distract you from the Word planted in you. It will have a chance to grow and transform you. 

Luke 8:14 NIV

[14] The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. 

There is so much to digest and assimilate into our lives from just the New Testament alone. Don't be intimidated. There is no time frame here. Just start reading. You might keep a notebook and pen handy to jot down important things the Holy Spirit will show you as you read. The most important thing to do is stay in the Word everyday and then put what you learn into practice. Don't worry the Holy Spirit will help you with this. 

I hope this will invigorate your life. This will build your relationship with God. This will build your relationships with mankind also. So, just start reading!
