Follow the Recipe!!

 A chef goes to work and gets ready to make the food. A lot of times they will pull out recipes to remember some dish they have to prepare. 

What good would it do if they took out the recipe, laid it on the counter, and didn't do anything with it?

What would happen if they only used the parts they liked? They would not have the dish they set out to make. It wouldn't turn out right. It's the same way with the Christian life.

If we don't use OUR recipe book which is the Bible, then we won't get the life God promises to give us in Christ. If we just read it and never apply it, then it won't benefit our lives.

That's why James said:

James 1:22 NKJV [22] But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

God shows us how to live in the Bible to have the best life possible. The last thing Satan wants is for us to open the Bible everyday. 

The next time he tries to keep you out of the Word, say what Jesus said, "Man shall not live on bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God," which is a great lesson also. 

That says that we cannot have life just feeding our physical bodies. We have to feed our spirit too. How do we feed our spirit everyday? By reading the Bible.

So, when those "fiery darts" come into your mind, fight them with scripture just like Jesus did. 

Do you want a great life? Follow the recipe, the Bible.

Read and start putting it into practice everyday. The Holy Spirit inside you will help you on this journey everyday as "He teaches us all things." 

Jesus said," Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be filled." Matthew 5:6.

He will fill that hunger of the spirit, of the soul, through His Word.

Don't listen to anything that would try to keep you out of the Word everyday, because it will come and it will come everyday.

I see this in my life, every single day. It doesn't matter. I know I have to feed my spirit so I read and study.

So? Read the recipe, follow it, feed your soul everyday.
